Asset enhancement is a key element to improving returns to unitholders and service to customers and tenants. Through asset enhancement work covering physical structures, trade-mix, customer services and promotional activities, the potential of our properties is maximized. According to surveys conducted by The Hong Kong Polytechnic University on asset enhanced projects, overall customer satisfaction ratings jumped by over 60% once enhancement projects were completed. In addition, more than 80% of customers interviewed voiced support for similar enhancement work at other properties of The Link.

As a result of this positive feedback, we have expanded the programme to more shopping centres which are currently at various stages of renovation. Asset enhancement work at these properties focuses on optimizing and improving facility layouts to create additional retail space, improved access and re-aligned trade mix. Our aim is to maximise lettable internal floor areas, enhance the business environment for tenants and customers by optimising trade profiles and provide a wider range of shopping and dining choices. The communities are also benefited with our properties being enlivened, as more job opportunities are created and more customers from neighbourhood are willing to enjoy shopping locally.
