Project Overview
Adjacent to MTR Hang Hau Station, Hau Tak Shopping Centre is located in the densely populated Tseung Kwan O district. Through asset enhancement programme, the passageway linking to MTR station, once a quiet corridor, has been turned into a major shopper gateway, drawing in customers from the nearby MTR station and other neighbouring developments. By introducing more popular restaurants and food outlets, Hau Tak Shopping Centre successfully offers shoppers quality dining and shopping choices and has become major dining hub in the district.

Turnaround Tactics
By re-partitioning and increasing the number of shops, traffic flow on the first floor has improved. Once a quiet corridor, the passageway has been turned into an air-conditioned footbridge with a coffee shop at its centre. Advertising light boxes have also been installed to showcase the newly introduced dining choices. Enhanced accessibility has successfully attracted customers from the nearby MTR station and other neighbouring developments, making the centre an integral element of the major shopping ring at Hang Hau MTR Station.

Shopping Centre Profile
Completed in 1993, Hau Tak Shopping Centre provides shoppers quality choices and convenience with its 320,000-sqare-feet area and more than 620 parking spaces at both the East Wing and West Wing carparks. Located next to Hang Hau MTR station, the shopping centre is well situated in a neighbourhood of large residential projects with a combined population of over 110,000. Young families living in the area are a substantial customer base. The largest fresh market in Tseung Kwan O is located in the shopping centre - an added attraction that keeps it ahead of competitor centres in the area.
