Introduction
Cooked food stalls are known as dai pai dong (大排檔) or “mushroom pavilions” in Hong Kong. They are a common sight at public housing estates, forming part of the tradition and dining culture of Hong Kong people.
As such, The Link REIT believes that maintaining these cooked food stalls is important to honour the local heritage and to provide casual dining services to residents.
A total of 19 “mushroom pavilions” have been renovated since The Link REIT’s listing, including two in 2010/2011. They are located at Sun Chui and Chuk Yuen (South).
