Tak Tin Plaza
Renovation works at Tak Tin Plaza were carried out in three phases and substantially completed in December 2010. Vertical circulation within the shopping centre was significantly improved by replacing the original staircases with new escalators. Re-configuration of the floor layout involved the re-partition of the existing Chinese restaurant to enhance the trade mix of the shopping centre. The newly renovated arcades and atriums with feature elements also improved the shopping experience. The concept behind the renovation is based on a metaphoric return to the old Chinese meaning of "tin" (meaning farmland). Associated colours and textures were used throughout the building, as well as design representations in the external graphics and features above the entrance of the Plaza and atrium.
